1. Who we are
This policy describes how Seerius (Suisse) SA, Rue De-Candolle 26, 1205 Geneva, Switzerland (“Seerius”, “we”) collects and processes personal data in the course of its activities, including through this website (seerius.ch). Seerius is the controller of this data. Specific terms agreed with you in a contractual document supplement this policy.
Questions and requests: contact@seerius.ch.
2. Applicable law
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and its ordinance. Where our processing concerns individuals located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, we also comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
3. Data we collect
- Identification and contact data: name, title, company, role, email address, telephone number, postal address.
- Professional data: professional background and information on the companies you own or manage.
- Interaction data: records of our exchanges by email, telephone, meetings, website forms and events.
- Browsing data: collected through cookies, subject to your consent (see section 10).
We do not make decisions producing legal effects about you based solely on automated processing.
4. How we collect data
- Directly from you, or from the organisation you work for: through meetings, correspondence, website forms, business cards and documents you send us.
- From other sources: publicly accessible sources (such as commercial registers, company websites and professional networks), commercial databases, business introducers and advisers. In particular, when identifying companies that may be interested in a transfer of ownership or an investment, we may process the professional contact details of their owners and managers obtained from such sources.
5. Data about other persons
If you provide us with personal data about another person (for example a colleague or a fellow shareholder), please ensure that you are entitled to do so and that this person has been informed of this policy.
6. Why we use your data
- To respond to your enquiries, identify and assess investment opportunities, and develop and manage our business relationship with you (legitimate interest; pre-contractual and contractual steps).
- To comply with our legal obligations (legal obligation).
- To send you our newsletter, insights and invitations to events, where you have subscribed or where permitted by law (consent or legitimate interest). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email.
- To measure and improve our website (consent).
- To protect the security of our systems and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (legitimate interest).
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Recipients and international transfers
We may share personal data, where lawful and necessary, with: legal, tax and other professional advisers; competent courts and authorities where required by law; and service providers processing data on our behalf, including Webflow (website hosting, United States), HubSpot (CRM and email, European data centre) and Google (analytics and email services, United States and European Union).
Where data is transferred to a country that does not offer an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks or standard contractual clauses recognised by the Swiss and EU authorities.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Contact and newsletter data are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and in any event no longer than 3 years after our last interaction. Data relating to business relationships and transactions are kept for the periods required by law (in principle 10 years under Swiss law), and data may be kept longer where needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. Your rights
Within the limits of applicable law, you may request access to your personal data and a copy of it, its correction or deletion, object to or restrict its processing, request data portability, and withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Requests are free of charge: contact contact@seerius.ch. Withdrawing consent or objecting may prevent us from continuing certain services, and we may continue to process data where required or permitted by law. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you are located in the EU/EEA, with your local data protection authority.
10. Cookies
Apart from strictly necessary cookies, we only place cookies after you have given your consent through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or through your browser settings.
